So I took the option of “text posts” off the submissions, it seems so many people were confused! If you press the triangle, a drop-down menu appears and you can submit different types :P

Sorry for the confusion, you guys!

This blog is in need of some submissions, please!

I don’t have very much time on my hands to browse for photos, so submissions are so helpful and appreciated!

Anonymous asked: Hey! I've wanted dreadlocks for a really long time but I can't right now because of school policy, so I'm planning on getting them when I graduate. I read your "things to consider" post and one of the reasons I want dreads is because it'll give me confidence. I love the way they look and I love the attention that comes with it, positive or negative. Is this a bad reason? I know I'd be dedictaed if I got them, I'm good with that and it isn't my only reason for getting them but is it a bad one?

I mean do dreads for whatever reason you want, thats just to make people think. Do whatever you think is best for you

I’m possibly looking for someone to run this blog with me, you’d have to be very knowledgeable about dreads, and have a lot of time on your hands (since I don’t.) Message me if you’re interested. Please only send one message, and don’t keep sending them if I don’t respond. thanks!

charlieaugenti-deactivated20140 asked: hello. so my dreads are a month old and doing pretty good. im very lazy and i dont want to crochet all the time so i just roll them a few times a week. the dreada are nice, but there is alot of loose hair around the dreads. I'm okay with a minor messy set of dreads. i dont want the perfect neat uniform look. kind of a natural look. so basically if i just keep rolling them often and sleeping on them and washing them, do you think they will come together in time?:)

Well loose hairs can only really be fixed with a crochet hook. If you don’t at least fix the roots, you’ll start to get “congo’s” which are dreads that literally start to grow together. Washing them, scratching your scalp, and pulling them up in a pony tail and such can create the loose hairs at the roots. They can easily be fixed about once a week, which isn’t too much maintenance.
